Where Oh Where?

This is an engaging spatial memory game designed to enhance or assess students' working memory skills.

 

Basics of the Game:

  • Students need to remember the positions of the images on the grid.
  • Students will have 60 seconds to memorise the positions.
  • After 60 seconds, flip the page over (or move it out of sight) and students will then recall and mark the positions of the images on the blank grid.

 

What's Included?

- 25 PRINT AND GO activity pages (Five differentiated grids of 5 different images: balls, frogs, apples, sunflowers and pencils)
- 1 blank grid and small images to print/laminate so you can tape the images wherever you want on the grid then move the images around after each round.

Multiple ways to use this resource:

1. Part of your language arts or SEL curriculum:

  • Follow the lesson plan and play the Where Oh Where game as a lesson to target executive function skills.

2. Use as an Informal Assessment Tool:

  • Use the included trackers to assess and track their auditory working memory performance.

3. Play individually or in pairs as a centre game:

  • Put pencils and copies of the activity sheets in one of your centres for pair or small group work.
